Bill, surely you aren't suggesting that the defense has an advantage in "jumping" the snap count? Snap count is purely an offensive advantage. They know exactly when it will occur on every single play. They also know exactly where the play is going on every play. Offense has the advantage at the point of attack there. That's not really even debatable.

If you want to now disallow blitzing, are you also in favor of all offensive blocking occurring only behind the line of scrimmage...even on running plays? Seems that's the only way to even that out.



I'm not for any changes to the current rules. I'm for letting coaches coach and players play. The snap count is only an advantage to the offense if they aren't predictable. Kind of like the no huddle is only an advantage if the defense is predictable and out of position.
