http://www.performancetrucks.net/forums/Search AFM removal or DOD removal. There are plenty of threads on how to remove the AFM. You can completely remove it, but you have to tear into the engine. I bought an 09 5.3 for a old car conversion. I ended up parting it out. I was told it had 20K miles on it, but from looking at the internals, I think it had less than 10K miles on it. But the pistons were covered in carbon buildup from the oil consumption. I ended up with a 2004 6.0 that was clean with no carbon buildup. Derail, Whats it going in, gonna be a nice setup. Those 6.0's are a little thirsty but solid IMO.
On the Eighth day God created flounder.
