The pronghorn on the left is the buck from 584 yards. He had a doe with him and she ran around and stopped at 586 yards. The 626 yard pronghorn was a doe. This is a Hartmanns Zebra (aka Mountain Zebra from Namibia. Zebra are extremely tough to hunt and bring down. (For those that will say it’s just a horse) This is my best mulie and my longest shot on a mulie. I’ve shot numerous springbok of 5 different sub-species. I’ve never shot one less than 200 yards and most were over 300 yards. The is one is the farthest I’ve connected with but I’ve missed several at much farther just trying to hit one. The tahr hunt was one of the most physical hunts I’ve ever done by far. The shot was tough but the climb up and back down was special to say the least. The chamois was certainly the most difficult shot I’ve ever made. I was sitting on a rock aiming the rifle straight down between my feet. This whitetail was taken in Saskatchewan in deep snow. I had him at less than 100 yards but he spooked and ran to the next ridge top. He stopped to have a look and shouldn’t have.
