But it’s improvement for me. Don’t get me wrong the turkey hunting still sucks but hopefully it’s heading the right direction now. I’ve deer hunted this property for 10 years but 2 years ago I got turkey rights on it. In the last 10 years it was rare to see a hen with poults. I can’t control how the timber is managed and I can’t control the high water/flooding…. But…. For the last 2 years I only killed one gobbler per season and I have trapped hard from the beginning of February till after nesting season and it looks like I may be starting to see some benefits from it. Ive seen more hens with poults this year than I’ve seen in the previous 9 combined. From Feb 2020 - July 2022 Hogs: 541 Coons: 311 Possums: 17 Coyotes: 16 Bobcats: 8 Skunk: 2
