It may have something to do with the city you’re in as well. I’m not sure. I know of two people that both built their homes in Jefferson Co and they both had to get a home builder/GC license of some kind. Man you got that right you have to get a permit just to get a permit in Jeffco and I hear Shelby is even worse


Jefferson county is horrible in this department. They always have their hand out for anything that they can. Now the process is supposed to be all online for permit applications but, navigating that website is horrible. You can't even get anyone to answer the phone to answer a question that you cannot find out online.
