how much wax do I need for 6 or so 550's? Also, cold dyeing vs. hot dyeing? any difference? Depends on how you do it. I bought three blocks two years ago and still have 2 blocks. I get water boiling then shave wax off with a knife till I get a thick layer floating on top of the water. Drop a trap in and when the wax melts off of it and floats back to the top its ready to be pulled out. Pull them out slow and its will coat them good. Then just hang them up to dry. If you just melted wax it would take good bit just to submerge the trap in
