just a hypothetical. Lets say the US would of completely abstained from the war effort in WW2. What do you think the world would look like now? Germany was sinking American cargo ships via U-Boat. Japan attacked us. Pick another analogy. The quote still stands. It wasn't a " should we enter" or " was we justified for entering" the war. It was what would of happened if we didn't enter. Which by the way. We was very involved in the war effort, when those 2 incidents you mentioned happened.
