Our archery season opens in mid September and firearms season starts in mid October. Firearms closes at the beginning of January and archery season goes on till January 15 I believe. Also got 2 weeks of primitive season in there. It’s a very long season here too. . January 15th, our area hasn't even started the rut. That’s the difference. A lot of Louisiana has a more traditional fall rut.
