Sorry, been gone a few days. To ALFisher's question; yes it will be a waste of time using granular, such as the Whitetail Institute's 30-06, in loamy soils. That has been my experience. I have moved all of my sites into clay-based areas, and they destroy every spot. I have one former spot that I used to tote 5-gallon buckets of red clay into. The loamy area hardly got touched until I brought the clay in. Since then, I have moved my site maybe 500 yards to a natural clay area. You may have to do the same if your entire place is loamy and/or incredibly sandy. Hope that helps. This ^^^^......Clay that stays moist.....A small clay water hole that the mineral can wash into does great
