Question for the experienced trappers on here:

I have caught two coyotes and they have both been caught on the hind foot not the front paw. I am putting my dirt hole against a small backing so they must approach from the front to see in the hole. Trap is set slightly to right of hole with center approximately 9 inches below the hole. Dog side of trap is closest to hole.

Am I doing something wrong with setup to be catching the back leg?
