The insurance company wouldn’t be the one telling him that. It would be the dealership/mechanic. Insurance companies don’t dictate where you get your vehicle fixed. They steer people. But you still have 100% your own choice. Just may end up being more of a headache but I'd rather use someone I know instead of who they recommend and I've always been able to no matter the insurance company.
