So what's the main cause of shortage or increased prices for an uneducated person like myself. I've been in the process of pricing out material for a house build and was honestly shocked a little at this first lumber price I was quoted, didnt know if it was just the particular supplier I priced at.
I'm in no agreement to build at any certain time. If prices are increasing like said, when do the professionals expect it to go back down? I'll put my house build on hold if I can save money by waiting out till next yr sometime.
After a quick interweb search. I see several articles blaming it on do it yourselfers doing these projects during this China virus isolation while stuck at home. Did alot of the mills shut down during the China virus or get that far behind? Stop cutting certain wood to allow for the TP stockpile madness?
Any certain woods expected to be higher than others or be affected worst?
