It is much worse than that. The states of both California and New York give drivers licenses to illegals, thus allowing them to vote. New York just made it a felony to even report illegals to ICE. A popular vote would give tremendous weight to a huge number of illegal votes. We are witnessing the biggest steal the election effort in human history by the Democrats, and abolishing the electoral college would guarantee an illegitimate election and almost certainly result in a hot civil war.
