Very key battle. Over 23,000 combined casualties. Gen Johnson getting killed swung the momentum of the battle. We almost had them pushed into the river. I lost 2 great uncles there. One is in a mass grave and another wounded died in MS when pulling back I have their ambrotype pictures. Hugh Mercer Andress and George Andress.
