I brought this up to a CAB member before their meeting to approve date changes. I have hunted the Bankhead and Black Warrior my whole life. I literally walk out my back door and hit the public land 50 yards away from my deck. The population has not flourished and in many spots its had an extreme decline. Every other piece of public ground you can go to in Bama you will see turkeys out in the fields during the season and in the off season. Not in the Bankhead. I hope the change will have a positive affect on the other regions of the state but from the model im experienced with it hasn't showed any progress. The hunting pressure has risen greatly in this area so that might be part of the decline or sustaining numbers in certain areas but when I can go to other wma's and hear 10 different gobblers from a high point but have to drive the whole 90plus thousand acres of the Bankhead to hear that many it makes me think the current changes are going to be of no avail.
