If your state's permit process involves a background check, like Georgia's does, then you never have to get a background check called in when you buy a gun.
The fact that the feds DON'T get notified every time I spend a little cash is reason enough for me to not want GA to change to constitutional carry. I'm fine with the permit, even though I know that it doesn't stop criminals.
Also helps me be sure I ain't selling to an ATF spy if I trade or sell something I am tired of or want to upgrade.
For Bama, that's incorrect. It used to be at the ffl's discretion if you had a permit. No longer. In Bama, a background check is supposed to be ran on every purchase through a ffl Evidently several FFL guys ain't aware of that. I know a bunch who will sell you the gun right now with a CCP.
