Impeachment is the charge, like a grand jury indictment.
Brought by the House.
Then the trial is in the Senate.
They have to find him guilty of the charge(s) for there to be a removal.
Clinton was impeached by the House but acquitted in the Senate.
I said then that it was a big mistake by the House GOP.
The impeachment IIRC was based on Clinton lying under oath in depositions in sexual harassment cases - something that had nothing to
do with his acts as president. A very piss poor basis for the House to impeach.
