12/9/19 UPDATE: contacted just now by consumer affairs w/the USPS out of Birmingham - said they are "actively" working the issue w/this carrier & asked if i'd received my mail this weekend -- i confirmed that i did receive my mail, undamaged & un-tampered with ... she asked me to contact her immediately & directly if any issues surface again ...
Sounds like someone lost a few pounds of ass after a chewing. Hopefully, they'll find out more and can her.
