A little over 25 years ago, I worked for a small municipality as a heavy equipment operator. Since I was one of the few that had a CDL, I drove the garbage truck two days a week. The mail carrier there HATED me for some reason, and would make it a point to drive her mail carrier vehicle right up to the front of the truck, nose to nose, while I was stopped, and then expect me to back up out of her way. (Which I never did.). She used to call the city and complain about me nearly every week, because I would not give here the “right of way, that she was entitled to as a carrier”. Never mind that I was at a dead stop and she pulled up to me. She used to spout off some kind of regulation about how as a mail carrier, she even had right of way over an ambulance that was in an emergency situation. I always figured if she wanted to try and push that big garbage truck out of the way, with her little red Jeep, then she was more than welcome to give it her best shot.
