Did Saban not call a timeout? He and the team were in the tunnel to the locker room. From the stands it looked like he called timeout,
In that case, the clock doesn’t start until the snap. No one was charged with a timeout. Saban said that the clock should have run out before the snap, so I would guess he didn’t call one. Bama should have been charged with a delay of game then. The officials deliberately waited for them to return to the field.
