My wife is a Librarian and a good one. She teaches 7 classes a day Mon-Thursday on top of the typical Librarian responsibilities. She has to report to work by 7:30am and can't leave until 3:30pm and rarely has time for a lunch break.

The perks are good through. She works for a good school system and makes more money than most because of it.

She loves what she does and I doubt she'll retire when eligible in a year. The students love her too. She makes the library fun for them and it shows in the circulation numbers produced.

The biggest issue is the bad parents and some lackluster administration from time to time. Administrators come and go. There is never a shortage of bad parents.

If the federal government was out of the schooling business completely it would make life better for everyone.

Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
