I shoot the 140gr TSX Federal Premiums in my 708. Last year I killed a 300+ lb pig with it. Went through the elbow, through the cartilage plate, a rib, both lungs, another rib, cartilage plate, off side shoulder and off to never be found. Entrance wound was caliber size or slightly larger, insides were jello, and exit was about half dollar size.
I have also shot 2 bucks with them and neither one took a step. Bang, Flop.
I love Barnes bullets and will probably be shooting the exclusively out of all my rifles.
I reload my ammo so I have tried many other bullets, I love Noslers and have a bunch of them but I feel that the Barnes bullets are easier to get to shoot very well I agree on availability, even over the counter, I may slowly move my rifles to these. We’ll see
