For those who can't read, basically what the new science is saying is that we need natural vitamin D from the sun (Can't get it from supplements.) and we need to get it by being out in the sun. Being out in the sun can also lower your blood pressure and other health benefits. Australia and New Zealand have already officially recommended their citizens to get certain hours of sunlight everyday, even int he summer. Those if us with light skin, eyes and hair can do with less sun, but we all still need it and more of it than you think you do.

Do we need sun exposure? Absolutely. Does excess sun exposure and sunburn cause skin cancer? Hell yes. There’s a fine line.

The benefits outweigh the risk of skin cancer. The only skin cancer that is truly bad for you is melanoma and it is actually fairly rare. Even among really white people. however it is all about being sensible about sun exposure. but the fact remains that we have been over taught about the inherent dangers of sun exposure and have become over cautious. Just like we became over cautious about fats in our diet and went off the deep en in the other direction.
