I'll admit that I haven't done it yet, but I bought a lock on at a thrift store for $8 that I plan on hanging beside a single ladder that I already have for my boy and I to hunt out of. I can't think of a downside. cheap lock-ons can be bought for $40-60 and can turn any single you already have into a double. The only downside is that the POS fails and you fall. Other than that they're great. What POS, the $8 thrift store stand? It was brand new in the box. I'm no more worried about it than any other stand.
May the sound of hounds never die!
