Working at a financial institution we don't allow open carry because it can make other customers feel unsafe. We have a few officers who stop by in plain clothes and some of them open carry but it's with a badge either on the holster or right next to it.

We didn't stop allowing open carry until we had a few morons come in who looked like thugs and didn't conduct any business just walked around apparently to show off their guns or maybe they were scoping the place out like idiots i'm not sure.

After many clients told us how uncomfortable they felt we decided no one can open carry on the premises. The next time one of these thugs came in and we asked them to leave they started throwing a very loud tantrum until the cops showed up a few minutes later and escorted them out while showing them the plainly visible sign that no open carry is allowed on premises.

It works for us and I don't have a problem with it.
