This past March we conducted a controlled burn on all of our property. This was anywhere from the 1st to 3rd burn depending on the section.
Why do I always get nothing but greenbrier, weeds, and poison ivy growing back. I see pictures like Gobbler and others post and I get very jealous! Best guess based on description is not enough sunlight. Broomstraw and other bluestem grasses love LOTS of sun and do very poorly in shady conditions. Thats where weeds, greenbriar and poison ivy do best  So expect better results after the 2nd thinning...gotcha
