That’s why they instill Selfless Service into you as a cornerstone of your military career. To execute the mission properly it requires it. That’s why all branches are heroes and that’s also the biggest difference that civilians will never understand. Once we signed that dotted line it was always payable up to our lives, no doubt about it.
