my stance on other home state institutions:

I agree with him with a couple of changes

Huntingdon - don't care, hope they win
Alabama State - same
West Alabama - same
Tuskegee - same
UNA - same
UAB - same
South Alabama - same
Troy - Same
Jacksonville State - same
Alabama - Under no circumstances

It's not insecurity to not cheer for another team to win. And it's not being terrible if you don't cheer for them. Some folks really just don't care one way or another.

Insecurity, though, is pinning your existence on a group of 18- to 22-year-olds, wearing the team's clothing every day, having a bunch of decals on your car, have responses similar to 7th grade if somone says anything else. Insecurity (and a sickness) is being depressed and angry for multiple days or longer if your team loses, instead of finally realizing you had zero to do with the outcome in any way whatsoever, the players on the team are not "playing for the fans" because they don't give two chits about fans (they care about winning, poontang and the NFL), and that its time to get on with your life. Insecurity is literally every day wearing apparel that is branded in some way with your team's logos or hashtags or sayings, which is not what a fan does ... it's what an obsessive, insecure person does who needs validation to feel better. Insecurity is seeing someone wearing a cap or shirt from "the other team" and instead of simply being a decent human being, responding with some kind of impolite or snarky bullchit about the sport. Insecurity is when you find out that a friend's child has been accepted to another university your response is "Oh, I'm so sorry." instead of being happy for the youngster and congratulating them. (That last one is also what a f'king asshole does but it's rooted in insecurity.)

Cheering for home state institutions is fine. Hey, good job! Well-played! When it comes to Alabama, I respect great football and coaching so I enjoy watching them. Same with UAB or JSU or ASU. But to cheer for Alabama? Hell, no. Never. And I would never expect an Alabama fan to "cheer" for Auburn.

Oh, you use your tongue better than a $10 French whore.
