What makes financial sense and what's right are two different things. You have an OPINION. God didn't give you a stone tablet on the mountaintop with the Ten Commandments of fiscal responsibility.
Actually, since you chose to bring God into it, there are multiple verses in the Bible, both OT and NT, that suggest you should avoid debt when possible. Is debt completely totally 100% avoidable? No, not really, not for a large majority of people. But BIBLICALLY, one should strive to at least minimize debt as much as possible.
