Haven't you read the posts above? If you have a round in the chamber every deer within a 100 yards of you will drop dead in it's tracks. Keep the bolt open until the target is acquired.
That explains it! I've been hunting a lot of thick stuff and they must be dropping dead before they get into sight. dang I need to go walk around my stands and see what all I've got over the last few weeks.
