Trump underestimated Mattis. Dems wanted us out of the region in return for wall votes. Trump pulled the trigger and played politics with Americans lives. Mattis don’t play that. When he gives an estimate for what’s needed in the AO that’s what’s needed. Trump is out of his element here and I dread to see who replaces him because it could be a name as great as Colin Powell and it would be a step down from Mattis in that role. So pulling American soldiers out of the Middle East where they have been fighting since the beginning of time is risking American lives? Very odd theory
