I like his reasoning. I don't know of any passage of scripture that supports the idea that God leads us into temptation. If we are following God's will daily I don't see where He would lead us into temptation. If anyone has a passage that says anything different I'd truly like to know. There is scripture that speaks of Him being "a light unto my path". He will also help us find a way out of troubles. I know that He allowed satan to take all of Job's possessions in order to prove his devotion to God. Which would support the "not abandoning unto temptation". I have to say that I do not know Greek or Aramaic but that is on my list because of topics like this.
