So mama asked the coaches for a redshirt this season for her little boy ASA. (specific quote from her in the last couple paragraphs). Mom needs to realize that big time D1 college football is a business. AU staff might have felt that they needed him in the MS State game to win it. Maybe someone was on the sidelines injured or they suspected someone else would not be back in time to play in future games and Asa would have to be used or whatever. That kid is bought and paid for by that free education that he's currently getting and if the coaches decide they wanted to use him in one, four, five or all twelve games, then mama has no choice but to suck it up and transfer him if she wants. Maybe they intended to use him more toward the end but he was laying down in practice. Nobody knows for sure but the staff. I can tell you that if the coaches at a premier SEC school feel that a certain player can help them win a crucial game, the last thing they are worried about is that kid's redshirt. The pressure to win is that high and there are a dozen other high school senior Asa's out there just begging for the chance to sign with Auburn and show their talents starting this summer.
