I planted 6 Dunstan chestnuts, which is a cross between an American and Chinese chestnut, 6 years ago. Last year was my first year to have any nuts, I think I had them on 3 or 4 of my trees. This fall I had nuts on 3 of them. The interesting thing was that last year the nuts dropped a full month before they did this year. (early Sept in 2017, early Oct in 2018). It may be just an inconsistency due to their immaturity, I don't know. I have not had enough nuts yet to really determine how well they attract anything, as I have scooped up most of them to striate and plant for more trees in the future. I've got about 12-15 growing now, but most are still small.
