What got it all started was a disgruntled former Savage employee. He started loading hotter and hotter loads and finally got a breech plug to fail. That caused lawsuits and Savage decided it wasn’t worth it a quit making them. The TRUTH is if you load them according to Savages load chart they are completely safe. I would not be afraid to let my granddaughter shoot mine as much as she wants to. I’m that confident it’s safe. The main think is to load them with the correct powder and amount of powder.
