4) You are in the hole on it now no matter what. If your mechanical ability doesn't go past 50 piece tool kit in a plastic case then you should probably cut your losses. If you can turn a wrench at all I would keep it. With a rebuild it will be good for another 50 years. You'd get a 1/4 of that service life out of any new tractor on the market don't care which color.
