I'm probably not and won't ever be serious elk hunter material but if I was shooting a 340wby, I would want a muzzle brake and ear plugs.


Back in the day I owned a few Roy's. The 340 ain't too bad in a Mark V.


I heard the .240 hits like Thor’s hammer on deer. I would imagine the same for the 340 and elk.


I didn't see the shot, but was sitting around the campfire that evening and heard the guide tell the story. He was quite impressed with the 340 Roy on elk.
