Honestly, every one of the pistols I've worked on, were due to small part failures although, I have seen one 9mm with a cracked frame.
They go bang and for the most part are reliable, but I have a hard time warming up to a gun that's major components like the slide and frame are made from zinc alloy (pot metal).
There are two types of gun enthusiasts ... Those who have been F#CKED by PTG and those who will be!
