I keep hearing about how great the job market is and how under our current leadership in Alabama there are jobs aplenty, yet the two year college system (a world I know much better than other work areas) is downsizing us left and right. 22 full time employees were dismissed last year at our college in a big downsizing, and Bevill State CC is threatening about the same number this year. You can't claim to be a "jobs administration" when you're putting so many folk out of work. To me the education system will be downsizing from now on. I just do not see the need for huge campuses and bias teachers. Skilled laborers are what is needed currently not educated employees with 12 years of colledge/grad school. So much information is online anyone can learn it if they want to. I would think online schools will be the way of the future. Kind of like all these new huge libraries being built, why does anyone need a library with so much information online??
