Amazing hunt this morning. It started off hearing all the birds across the property line. We were getting discouraged until i look up and 24 birds are runnin across the road into our field. We had a feeder hen up and i started calling. They would answer me but wouldn’t come. Probably because the 6 strutters has 20 hens with them. We watched 4 of the 6 strutters break off with 12 hens and walk all the way across our field and down a road. We get up and circle around and get there too late, 3 hens have already made it to our spot. So we wait til all the strutters and hens walk around the next corner, and we take off again, this time making a bigger circle and finally get in front of them. We wait no more than 5 mins and they ease out in the cut cotton field at 25 steps, buckcommander2 and I rolled two of the strutters up. Mine had 1 1/8 and 1 3/16 spurs. His had longer beard and was heavier. It was awesome!
