I had one burning it up from daylight till 9 but I couldn’t get to him with my dad due to terrain. He just turned 70 and I kept thinking, I finally understand all those years that he took me hunting as a tot and I was slowing him down now the shoe is on the other foot. I did exactly what he always did with me. We sat and watched the woods wake up with the sunrise and just talked about old times, kids, and made another memory. I bet that bird gobbled 40 times and I firmly believe he was ready to meet his maker but I wouldn’t take back not going to him for anything.

Tomorrow morning is a different story. He better enjoy the sunshine today because I plan to slip in his bedroom in the morning.
