Going by what they’re showing…….We should have approx. 190,000 deer hunters if there hasn’t been any drastic changes compared to the last five years. If we use that number along with our average kill % then that gives us……..

159,000 bucks killed
133,000 does killed

Total Harvest: 292,000

In comparison, last years estimated harvest was 295,000 so we may not be that far off with our survey.



So if those numbers are correct and we as a state have an "estimated" 1.5 million deer, why isn't the deer population growing exponentially?

Personally because I think our estimate is way high. I wouldn't be surprised if we have less that 1M head.
