Keep in mind he said parts and labor, new engines need new filters and fluids before you start them as well. Those prices are about $2k more than it should cost. Summit racing usually has the best price on gm warrantied long blocks unless one of the dealers has one they got stuck with and wanna move. True, and I understand that. Just guessing though, R and R should take what 10 hours? Going labor rate is around $100.00 ? All fluids and filters and misc parts around $500.00 ? Even padding it, $2K would probably easily cover installation? So out the door with a new motor he'd be looking at $5600.00 for a new motor installed, right? Or am I way off base?
