I'm about as easy a going guy you're gonna meet. But if you wanna see me red faced and shaking, shoot a doe and not put in all efforts to find it. We had a couple guys that used to hunt with us and if they shot a doe and it didn't drop or die within a short distance they wouldn't even try to find it. After a few times this happened and we went and found the deer less than 100yds away and they threw out the "it's just a doe no big deal" they were unpolitetly told to pack their chit and get the you know what off the property and do not ever think of coming back.


Yeah, I don't disagree... the couple of does I've lost were after looking hard (bad, non-fatal shots I believe). But again, it never occurred to me to get a dog after them. Although, I will admit, the idea of calling a tracking dog is relatively new to me after reading this site over the last few years.
