I had a friends son that's never killed one go to the chicory field tonight. The kid I hunted with yesterday went and sat with him since I was at work. They got to the spot I told them to sit at 5:30. Elk started coming in field at 5:35 just as planned. The bull was bulging a lot across the river and finally came. They kinda sitting in a hole and his first attempt to shoot was at 32yds. He drew back shaking a little and the bow jumped forward. Talking to the other guy, he said he then jumped up on the bank and missed at 40 or 45 yds. Oh well. I been avoiding hunting there hoping someone would get their first bull but, not tonight.
