Give her 8 more months and she will settle down.
I was fixing to say the same thing but was afraid the mods would delete it.
Not sure what you're expecting out of a 8 month old. Mine was a dern terror from time to time at that age.
Good luck finding any eight month old pup to "roam the woods and track things" with you in the way you see fit.
But im no dog training expert. Maybe some one more qualified will chime in.
