I fished Okaloosa Island Pier the past two afternoons. Sunday at 8:00 pm, we were almost ready to leave and I hooked a 100lber. An hour later, with much help from a Missouri family, I finally landed the fish. (two teenage girls, their boyfriends, and their dad did most of the fighting for me). Yesterday afternoon, we arrived at 3:30 pm. I caught a live bait and on the first cast hung another 100lber. Fought this one to the pier in 45 minutes. I hung another one at six pm and let a guy from Kentucky do about half the fighting for me. (he said that was always on his bucket list and made his entire vacation). One of the young guys out did me. He caught a 50lb sailfish and a tarpon yesterday afternoon. (pretty good day for fishing on the pier) The tarpon are coming by in much fewer numbers than during June and the first part of July but they are hungry. I would be glad to assist if any forum members are in that area. Only a few weeks left.
