If the shine bothers you that much, you can do the following:
1. Buy a cheap kiddie pool from WalMarks
2. Fill said pool with some dirt and clay
3. Add water
4. Convince Mrs. Irish that y'all need to do a little Mud Rasslin'.
5. Once recovered, just start throwing the mud all over the tin and problem solved once it is baked on
