The only place a 100 yard crossbow could come into play is in a foodplot. You'll have a damn hard time threading an arrow through limbs at any range over 50 yards in the woods. I'll certainly agree with that. I'm very conservative with ANY arrow shot. My reasoning is that I don't want to just see if I can "hit" an animal, I want to make EVERY effort for a quick, painless end for the animal. I pass up bow shots that a lot of folks would laugh about, but as I age, I just don't have to kill 'em all. Plus, long distance tracking is one job I don't look forward to, for me OR the animal. I've been fairly fortunate in that regard over the years.
