Today's bird makes 5* years in a row I have killed one on my birthday hunt. The * is because last year's bird was one day before (technically my birthday hunt) because I went to visit my mother on Mother's Day instead of hunting. This turkey gobbled like wild in the thick fog this morning out in a pasture. Took him about an hour to lose patience and come over to the edge of the pasture and look for the hen that had shut up on him. The little .410 ate him up at about 25 yards. Blessed beyond measure to get this bird! Really helps to ease the pain of this year with some misses and a new job keeping me from going as much as I usually do.
